◎Honcho Area : The Honcho area is known as a town of furniture.
① Yunome Furniture
Founded in 1871.It houses the Sendai Tansu Museum of History and Crafts on the 4th floor. Sendai Tansu is a traditional chest, which was made by samurai of the Sendai clan at the end of the Edo period to store their swords and haori coats. Using Japanese zelkova and chestnut trees, it is characterized by the lacquerwork to bring out the beauty of the wood grain and the gorgeous decorative iron fittings.

◎本町エリア 家具の街として知られる本町
①ユノメ家具百貨店
創業は明治4年。4階には仙台箪笥歴史工芸館があります。仙台箪笥は、江戸時代末期の仙台藩の武士たちが刀や羽織を納めるために作られるようになりました。ケヤキやクリの木を使用し、木目が美しく浮かび上がる木地呂塗がほどこされ、豪華な飾り鉄金具がつくのが特徴です。

② Sasaju
A long-established Sendai miso store founded in 1854. Sendai miso is a dark-brown miso and has a dry taste. Sendai Miso has been well-known as its high quality since the Edo period. When Toyotomi Hidayoshito ordered Date Masamune to join the Korean campaign, Masamune brought Sendai miso to the battle. Miso from other domains went bad, but miso from the Sendai domain did not deteriorate and had a superior taste.

②佐々重
1854年創業の仙台味噌の老舗。仙台味噌は辛口の赤味噌。仙台味噌は江戸時代から高品質の味噌として知られています。伊達政宗が豊臣秀吉の朝鮮出兵の命を受け、朝鮮に出陣した際、他の藩の味噌は変質してしまいましたが、仙台藩の味噌は変質せず味が優れていたことから全国に知られるようになりました。

③ Miyoshido
Founded in 1909 as a store specializing in artificial flowers and accessories. They carry a wide variety of Japanese crafts and handmade masterpieces, including festival dolls.

③三好堂
明治42年、造花と装飾品の専門店として創業。現在は、節句人形をはじめ、幅広い種類の和の小物を取り揃えている。

◎To Hapina Nakakecho Shipping Arcade
This Nakakecho area used to be the base of defense in the east during the Edo period. Samurai of the Nakake-cho group, which was a higher rank than Ashigaru, lived there. The waterway of Yotsuya Canal was located at the boundary between CLIS Road Shopping Street and Hapina Nakakecho Shopping street.
◎ハピナ名掛丁商店街へ
江戸時代、この名掛丁エリアは東の守りの拠点で、足軽より一段身分の高い組士名掛丁組のお屋敷があり、クリスロード商店街とハピナ名掛丁商店街の境目には四谷用水の水路がありました。
④Matsuzawa Kamaboko Store
Founded in 1910. “Sasatan”, sasakama with smoked beef tongue, and “Hanjuku Bakudan”, a soft-boiled egg in fried fish cake, are popular.

⑤Taishoen
